What are gas fees, and why don't I pay them?

oOpusfund

Gas is the small fee a blockchain charges to process any transaction It pays the network's validators for their work. You don't pay it on Opusfund because your fund trades on Polygon, where gas is tiny, and transactions are relayed: the network cost is handled away from your wallet, so it never comes out of your balance.

Gas, in one minute

A blockchain is thousands of computers agreeing on every transaction. Gas is how that work gets paid for: each action carries a small fee to the network. On busy, expensive chains gas can sting; on Polygon, it's a fraction of a cent, which is exactly what makes the next part possible.

Why it skips you

Your fund's transactions are relayed Submitted to the chain with the gas handled on your behalf. Your wallet holds USDC only; nothing is skimmed to fuel transactions, and there's no second token to buy, hold, or run out of at the worst moment.

What that removes from your life

  • No “insufficient gas” errors freezing a trade your CEO wanted to place.
  • No variable network charge muddying the fee math.
  • No crypto plumbing to learn, the fund handles the chain so you can think about the fund.

The plumbing's handled. Run the fund.
